Mav’s home is the corner of Main and Charleston, the front door of Downtown Las Vegas’s Arts District. Locals call it 18b, after the eighteen blocks the city set aside for artists in 1998, back when the neighborhood was a strip of warehouses and antique shops a mile south of Fremont Street.

Today nearly every wall is a canvas. Murals left behind by the Life is Beautiful festival wrap whole buildings, twin 45-foot paintbrushes light up Charleston at night, and on the first Friday of every month the streets close for one of the biggest art walks in the Southwest. Between the galleries you’ll find some of the best restaurants and breweries in the city, and one insurance AI company on the second floor. Downstairs at the Creamery, be sure to ask for the “scoop of the day” to find a secret world through the freezer door.

It’s a long way from the Strip, and that’s the point. We wanted to build in a place that makes things.
